Endings: A Challenge for the Lying Mind
Today I will talk to you about something that the mind, which sometimes deceives itself, often rejects and resists: endings.
The mind, intrinsically, does not usually welcome endings. Aware that they are destined to happen, it resists them, and this resistance manifests itself in its refusal to accept that things come to an end.
Life is a constant flow of experiences, and at every step we take, we encounter chapters that naturally come to an end. I am talking about closing cycles, powerful moments that give us the opportunity to reflect, grow and move forward. However, our mind, in its natural reaction, tends to reject them or present them as a kind of “death” that we should not allow.
Every closing of a cycle represents an opportunity to look back and appreciate everything we have learned and experienced. Sometimes, this means leaving behind relationships, jobs or situations that have served their purpose but have left us with valuable lessons.
However, overcoming mental resistance is essential for these cycle-endings to take place. In doing so, we not only create space for new opportunities, but we also advance our personal growth. Facing change and embracing the unknown are acts of courage and authenticity.
Whether a cycle-ending event comes in an expected or unexpected way, what is really crucial is how we deal with it. We must overcome our own resistance and overcome the illusion of mental immortality. The mind often operates as if we will never die, which can lead to living without truly experiencing life.
Some people take this denial of finitude to the extreme and, as a result, die without having lived fully. This is because they never overcame their mental resistances.
Let us take advantage of each closing of a cycle as an opportunity to heal wounds, forgive, free ourselves from unnecessary burdens and renew our determination to move forward. Each of these moments brings us a little closer to the person we are destined to be.
Let us celebrate these moments of transformation, embrace uncertainty and keep alive the hope of a future full of possibilities. Each closing of a cycle gives us the opportunity to grow, learn and move towards a future full of possibilities.
Today I invite you to join us on one of our three-day retreats, where you will be able to explore your own fears of closing certain cycles. Now, the question I would like to ask you is: What is it that you wish to let go of or allow to flow?
Thank you for taking the time to read me. I hope to see you on our Coaching Wednesdays or in future articles.
