I SEE YOU… A Great Parent
Por: Dr. Roch, El 11 marzo, 2023
I want to visualize all those parents who manage a tremendous internal emotional struggle daily.
I see you, feel you, understand you, and admire you more than you can imagine.
I SEE YOU…
I see you taking your son to therapy while your friends take their kids to soccer or ballet.
I see you slipping out of the conversation when all your friends bragged about achievements and test scores.
I see you juggle events and meetings.
I see you sitting at the computer for hours, researching your child’s needs.
I see you pulling a long face when people complain about what seems like nonsense.
I see you fading little by little, but you keep going the extra mile for your family.
I see you pull yourself up by your bootstraps with a strength you never dreamed of.
I see you respecting the teachers, therapists, and medical professionals who serve your child to help you.
I see you getting up early to do it again after another chaotic night.
I see you when you are on the cliff’s edge, struggling to live.
I know you feel invisible like no one notices. But I want you to know that I notice. I see you constantly pushing forward.
I see you do everything you can to give your child the best care at home, school, therapy, and doctor.
I see you understand that there are holy problems, as Jaime Baldovinos says.
What you do matters. It’s worth it.
On those days when you wonder if you can do it one more minute, I want you to know that I see you. I want you to know that you are beautiful. I want you to know that you are worth it. I want you to know that you are not alone. I want you to know that love is the most important thing and that you are the best at it.
And on those days when you see improvement, hard work pays off, and you can taste success. I see you then too, and I’m proud of you.
Whatever today is, you’re worth a lot. You’re doing well. And I see you. I’m DrRoch, and I’m here writing for you. Thanks for reading me.
