Endings: A Challenge for the Deceptive Mind
Por: Dr. Roch, El 17 octubre, 2023
Today, I will talk about something that the mind, which often deceives itself, frequently rejects and resists: endings.
The mind, inherently, does not readily embrace endings. It knows they are bound to happen but resists them, and this resistance manifests in its refusal to accept things coming to a close.
Life is a constant flow of experiences, and at every step we encounter chapters that naturally draw to a close. I’m talking about the closing of cycles, powerful moments that offer us the opportunity to reflect, grow, and move forward. However, our mind, in its natural reaction, tends to reject them or portray them as a sort of “death” that we should not allow.
Each closure of a cycle represents an opportunity to look back and appreciate all that we have learned and experienced. Sometimes, this entails leaving behind relationships, jobs, or situations that have fulfilled their purpose but have bequeathed us valuable lessons.
Nonetheless, overcoming mental resistance is crucial for these closures of cycles to take place. By doing so, we not only create space for new opportunities but also advance in our personal growth. Facing change and embracing the unknown are acts of courage and authenticity.
Regardless of whether a cycle’s closure is expected or unexpected, what truly matters is how we confront it. We must overcome our own resistance and dispel the illusion of mental immortality. The mind often operates as if we were never going to die, which can lead to living without truly experiencing life.
Some individuals take this denial of finitude to the extreme, and as a result, they die without having truly lived. This is because they never overcame their mental resistances.
Let’s make the most of each cycle’s closure as an opportunity to heal wounds, forgive, release unnecessary burdens, and renew our determination to move forward. Each of these moments brings us a step closer to becoming the person we are meant to be.
Let’s celebrate these transformational moments, embrace uncertainty, and keep the hope alive for a future filled with possibilities. Each closure of a cycle offers us the opportunity to grow, learn, and advance toward a future brimming with possibilities.
Today, I invite you to join us at one of our three-day retreats, where you can explore your own fears about closing certain cycles. Now, the question I would like to ask is: What is it that you want to let go of or allow to flow?
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope to see you at our Wednesday Coaching sessions or in future articles.
