An anecdote from my life

When I was in elementary school, I couldn't get good grades because of my undeveloped memory. I remember many teachers telling my parents—or even commenting among themselves—that my "problem" was that I always wanted to get attention by being prankish, since I couldn't achieve it with my grades.

Years passed. I failed third grade, and after several scoldings, I understood something important: they were right. But I also discovered that Getting attention is not a problem... it's a skillAnd today, that is precisely what we must master as professionals.

What made me professional was improve my way of getting attentionI used my creativity to strengthen my memory, and from high school through my Ph.D. in human behavior, I achieved academic excellence. So, I focused on being seen not only for my knowledge, but for my creativity in applying and communicating it. I also realized I could help others achieve the same thing I had. That became a superpower which I now use in my workshops, talks and three-day retreats.

The key is that It's not about seeking any kind of attention, but the right one.: the right audience and with a clear purpose.
