The envious against the greedy.

The human condition is capable of doing tremendously harmful things when it is wild.

People are willing to sacrifice themselves on a personal level, seeking to hurt you.

From this reality arises the fable of the envious versus the greedy.

Two very good friends since childhood are exploring a new path.

They also know each other's flaws, one of them is extremely envious.

The other is completely greedy, always wants more, nothing satisfies him and he also constantly compares himself to everyone else.

As they walk along this path, they meet a genie. The genie tells them, for walking this path for the first time, I'm going to grant you one wish.

I understand that there are two of you, but I only have one wish, so one of us will ask for something and I will make it come true 100% no matter what he asks for, and in compensation to the other, who didn't have the chance to ask, I will give him double what the first one asked for.

The two friends stare at each other, and the greedy one thinks to himself, "Perfect, I'll just keep quiet and get double what my friend asks for."

His friend, the envious one, who has known him since he was a child, knows that he is greedy and thinks silently: “How clever my friend is, he is not going to ask to have double what I ask for.”

The envious person reflects, but if I ask and he's going to get twice what I asked for, I'm going to become very envious, and that's my weakness. My wish won't be fulfilled because I'll become even more envious when I see that he has twice what I asked for.

Time passes and neither of them asks.

After several hours, the envious person says: I have my wish.

“My wish is to have one of my eyes taken out…
And the genie left his childhood friend without eyes.”

End.
