I AM, I CAN, I DESERVE

Recognition is not feedback. Please do not confuse nourishing food with junk food. Recognition has a high effect on group unity. Feedback is evaluation, it is given with authority and has another function. Recognition is given out of appreciation and as a gift.

Self-esteem is based on four powerful affirmations:

  • I can (power, capacity)
  • I am valuable (significant, I am important)
  • I am useful (functionality, I serve)
  • I am worthy (relevance, I am eternal)

To the extent that a person doubts any of these four fundamental statements, he or she applies to himself or herself a fragile self-esteem. I remind you that, whether to start a business or to live a stable married life, the basic-elementary ingredient is self-esteem. Without this fundamental part, you will be in trouble in any activity that involves relationships with others. If people cultivated their self-esteem, we would have simpler and more enjoyable lives, without so much family drama, organizational soap opera, business theater, political melodrama and religious soap opera in our societies.

Society is sick; it has a deficit of self-esteem, which is the result of an inner work that requires nourishment and care that modern life hardly encourages. It is necessary to be attentive to this need in order to give ourselves this much-needed personal attention. Remember that only what you nourish with care grows and remains healthy.
