The 4 components of self-esteem
Thank you for being here with me. I trust that you find this topic practical and useful.
1.- The first is: Identity and heteroesteem
It is based on the knowledge we have of ourselves and that we have learned from interaction with others. Heteroesteem is an essential component, it is the appreciation of significant people in our lives who show us our qualities and defects, who help us recognize our abilities, needs and feelings.
Identity has several elements: physical identity (the representation we have of our own body), social identity (the way we interact with other people), economic identity (the value we give to income and the way it satisfies our needs), intellectual identity (our reasoning and ability to solve challenges).

2- The second is: Feeling Competent and Strong.
It is a feeling of effectiveness and pride, we feel unique and valuable regardless of comparisons with other people. We take on new projects, acquire new knowledge, visit new places, experience new situations and challenges, and mobilize our energy to feel vital and competent. When we feel competent, we can face adverse situations with strength.
Being aware that life does not put anything beyond your capabilities. There is beauty in everything that our mind considers impossible (the mind lies) becomes the challenge for your Thymus (spirit) that makes you have moments of enlightenment when you overcome the impossible.
3.- The third: is Belonging.
The importance of social interactions and their impact on health from birth to old age has been increasingly proven.
Part of our identity is defined by the groups we belong to: partner, biological family, work family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, etc.
Through these groups we experience appreciation, recognition, support, appreciation, inclusion and acceptance of the different aspects of our personality. We feel understood and we understand more about ourselves to the extent that we understand others.
4.- The fourth and last is: Self-confidence.
Self-confidence is an internal feeling of security, of feeling loved and capable of satisfying our needs.
Self-confidence allows us to be willing to take risks, to try new things and to enjoy the process, even if we fail while we learn.
Self-esteem (internal) and heteroesteem (external recognition) are closely linked.
Companies need to foster heteroesteem to strengthen self-esteem and reap the benefits of people valuing themselves, learning and experiencing new things. Organizations that work on heteroesteem through multiple actions strengthen the culture of well-being, innovation and growth.
