After the September 11 attacks, a company that had its offices in the World Trade Center invited its executives and employees who had somehow survived the attack to share their experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today I want to share my experiences with you. I hope they are as useful to you as they are to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
People were alive for the simplest of reasons\u2026, little details like these:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The director of a company was late because it was his son's first day of kindergarten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A woman was late because her alarm clock did not go off on time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A person was late because he got stuck on the road due to an accident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another survivor missed the bus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Someone spilled food on his shirt and he needed to change clothes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One had a problem with his car, it wouldn't start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another came back to answer the phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another one had a baby!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another person didn't get a taxi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But the most impressive story was that of a man who put on a new pair of shoes that morning and before arriving at work he stopped at a pharmacy to put on a band-aid because he had a blister. That's why he's alive today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now, when I get stuck in traffic, when I miss an elevator, when I go back to answer a phone and many other things that drive me crazy, I think first:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis is the exact place I need to be at this very moment.\u201d<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The next time your morning seems crazy, when the kids take a while to get dressed, you can't find your car keys or you run red lights all day\u2026 don't get angry or frustrated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
